"Bamboo", 2008During my Intro Comp Art class this piece of art caught my attention. I couldn't just look at this image once, I just had to look at it several times. I love how the girl floats there in mid-air at that very moment. Her hair, dress, plants, and cloth give a sense of wind blowing by, although the ground seems so peaceful as if not being disturbed. This work was created by Julia Fullerton-Batton, photography work is her forte. But I gotta say, her pieces are just stunning.
Agreed, her work is really interesting. If you go to her website theres an interesting interview video. She really loves exploring the lives of teenage girls and the way she gets them to pose is really interestingly akward.
