Dreamweaving~

Dreamweaver is definitely new to me, interesting to learn how to make your own website and get an idea how web designers do it. We went over the basics procedures in class and it seemed to go alright. Although when working on it in the Horn Center, it was harder than I thought. Took several hours to get the hang of it, but I enjoyed the challenge. Even when I thought it was done, I went to preview it and unfortunately some things appeared in the wrong places. Some fixing was done here and there and then over and over. So tedious, but successful in the end. All I know is, I'm gonna need a lot more practice.

Go Go Circuitry~

" Space 1"
I enjoy the use of minimal color in here and look at those lines!!! To think that this is made of duct-tape and vellum. Created by the Jon Coffelt who is a painter, sculpture, and installation artist. He plays with materials, textures, and colors within his work. His work seems to look like the design you could find in a computer motherboard. Also he actually makes and sells duct-tape made wallets, no joke.

Next Futuristic Change~

"Deva Loka", 2008
I love the intricate use of colors. So much detail in this artwork that you definitely can't look at it just once. Notice all the creatures and how interesting they are displayed. I think it gives a very manga-like quality. This artist happens to be Yoshitaka Amano. He's worked in character design for anime shows, illustrations for science fiction and fantasy, conceptual design for video games, and much more. Usually well known from the Final Fantasy video games.

His work brings some inspiration and thoughts for the "future" assignment in computer art class. The possibly of different creatures coming to life, the look and design of buildings that can evolve, or maybe a world that just goes back and balances both technology with nature. Ideas just keep going back and forth in my mind.

Futuristic Change~

The future.

What will it bring?

What will come out of it?

What will change?

What will stay?

Questions, questions, questions.

Currently thinking and dishing out the ideas from my mind. When I think about the future, I'm usually thinking what will I be doing in the years to come. But haven't given too much thought about what will happen to the world itself. New thoughts. New ideas. Time to get the brainstorming going...Well, seems the world is heading towards getting more and more technological. I wonder how consumed we can all become by it. I mean, the wonders from outside are possible to be viewed on your own computer screen inside. I think I'll be taking the idea of "humans become consumed by technology" or something along those lines. Maybe even industries will take their effect.

World becomes polluted.

Nature dying out.

Skies not so blue anymore.

Maybe the world will be overtaken by water (I know the movie Waterworld came to mind.) Thoughts, thoughts, thoughts. So far, only a few rough ideas. But not so bad to branch off of and form more ideas...Oh. There's something I believe will change in the future.

Fashion.

Yeah I know, fashion usually does change. When it's in style today, doesn't mean it's gonna be popular in the next decade or even year. But I think there can be a dramatic change. For example, I've played a several games by the name of Final Fantasy and I've thought some of their styles of clothing would be awesome to have in the world. Yes, I must be silly to think that. But I just think their clothing is unique, well some of them.

Honestly, I'm still looking around for artists that I can get some inspiration or ideas from their work. Haven't found one exactly, most of the ideas that keep popping up from my head are getting inspiration from video games. Going to update this entry again when I find an artist that can inspire futuristic ideas for me. As for now, here's one example of the clothing styles that comes from Final Fantasy.

Craving an Awakening~

I'm lacking...lacking for that inspiration, energy, drive, that awakening. Something to come alive inside of me. Sprout. Boom. Blast. Irrupt. Oh where did it go? Or where does it come from? I can still remember a few years back of how much I loved art and had these ideas. But was taught that academics were the only way to go. Gave it a chance, but art still prevailed in my mind and got back into it in college. Although, I feel like it's still missing. That creativity. That imagination. That motivation. I know I've had it before and have used it. Just wish I could find it again. Or at least have something bring it out. Help it emerge. Or maybe, just maybe I'm just having an artist's block.

Letters and Art Collide~

"Wordscapes Java Applet", 2008
Tonight during my Artists in their Own Words class, we were able to enjoy the company of Peter Cho visiting our campus and discuss about his work. His work mostly revolves around typography and this idea of letters have a connection with sound. This would also include words too. I thought it was an intriguing presentation, since it's given me a different outlook of how words, letters, sounds, and art can collide to form art.

Whisked away~

"Bamboo", 2008
During my Intro Comp Art class this piece of art caught my attention. I couldn't just look at this image once, I just had to look at it several times. I love how the girl floats there in mid-air at that very moment. Her hair, dress, plants, and cloth give a sense of wind blowing by, although the ground seems so peaceful as if not being disturbed. This work was created by Julia Fullerton-Batton, photography work is her forte. But I gotta say, her pieces are just stunning.
